* Born in a northern London suburb, Baggadonuts moved to the US in 1980 and grew up in Allentown, PA. Began his vinyl habit at this time listening to the usual early electronic bands like Depeche Mode, New Order, Kraftwerk as well as other early 80's bands like The Smiths, Thompson Twins, etc. College meant a move to Syracuse NY and a weekly radio show on the university's WERW station - Meatbeat Manifesto, Psychic TV, were among the picks. 1989 brought a move to the Washington DC metro area and a spell in the hot DC ska scene [ah, the Toasters at the old 9:30 club!]. Next came the Industrial Age and many a night at the Roxy Club with Mohawk Adam's Wednesday night events, featuring Ministry, NIN, and just about anything on Chicago's WaxTrax label - gradually moving to industrial dance outfits like KMFDM, Lords of Acid, and the early rave stuff on ZYX. During this time a tall girl is knocked to the ground in the slam pit and Baggadonuts meets his future wife!
In 1991/1992 Baggadonuts infiltrated Future Rave, WUST music hall, Catastrophic, Orbit, Fever, and Citrus Club. He spent two years as a dedicated raver, traveling up and down the East Coast to such events as Red, Yellow [Boston], Essence [Long Island], Elevation [Vermont] amongst others- this was the real deal - true underground parties, bus trips w/ 60 good friends. Ah - good memories.
* During 1991-1993 the record collection grows and eventually mixed tapes are made - first unmixed from CDs and records [no, you can't listen to them :)] but soon 1200s are bought and the learning begins.
* By 1994 about 13 or so mixed tapes have been made and handed out, eventually one finds Sleepy C in Cleveland, Ohio who books him for his next party - Rebirth! The line up is stellar - Josh Wink, Dave Trance, Dan Curtin, Dieselboy, and DJ Sun. Not too put too much pressure on for a guys first big gig SleepyC puts him on after Sun and before Wink! No sweat :)
All went well although many records were played very fast - what me nervous?
* Following Rebirth came a big opportunity to play at the biggest weekly party on the East Coast at the time - Fever.
* The next few years [94-98] brought gigs all over the East Coast & Mid West including Chicago, Pittsburrg, Richmond, Baltimore, Cleveland, Raleigh & Atlanta, to name a few.
* 1997 sees the formation of Donut Records and its first release "First Batch E.P.". The A-side is picked for the soundtrack to the Jodie Foster movie CONTACT - $5 if you can find it! :)
* The second Donut Records release in 1998 - "Just Married E.P." to celebrate the years big event - a wedding [to the same girl from the Roxy in 1991!]
* The third release for Donut Records in 1999 with Greg Sargent, a long time friend and fellow DJ.
* In 1999, a friend at Skywalker Sound hooks up Baggadonuts with new movie director Greg Harrison and lands three Baggadonuts tracks in the Sony Picture Classics rave movie GROOVE.
* Fast forward to 2001; after a phat New Years Eve at Decadance <http://www.liquidprophecy.com/sights/dec.htm> Baggadonuts hooks up with two seminal Washington DC crews, The Syndicate and Mining Vinyl.
* Fast forward another 10+ years (!) and COMPOSITE is formed, playing proper techno in the Nation¹s Capital.
